We’re delighted with the latest addition to our list: a poetry collection with a difference.
The title says it all: To Sing Away the Darkest Days – Poems Re-imagined from Yiddish Folksongs.
This collection not only contains a wonderful set of poems which tell the story of the emigrant, the Jew in the Diaspora, but also the original Yiddish song texts and their literal English translation, plus a link to a sung rendition of the original folksong.
In 1993 Norbert Hirschhorn was commended by President Bill Clinton as an ‘American Health Hero’, and To Sing Away the Darkest Days is his fourth full poetry collection.
‘The first time I heard Norbert perform his poems at our Poetry & Translation event in October, I felt I had to publish them,’ says publisher Bernadette Jansen op de Haar.
Please contact Bernadette about review copies, author interviews, and other press and publicity matters.
