Place Lamartine by Jeroen Blokhuis translated into English

February 5, 2016

We’re delighted to announce that Place Lamartine, a novel about Vincent van Gogh by Jeroen Blokhuis, is going to be available in English at the end of 2016.

Place Lamartine is set during years Vincent van Gogh lived in Arles, when he painted several of his masterpieces including the sunflower paintings.

We are equally delighted to be able to give an opportunity to a bright new young translator to make her mark. Asja Novak received her Dutch language education at the largest Centre for Dutch Studies in the English-speaking world based at UCL headed by Professor Jane Fenoulhet.

Jeroen Blokhuis has published short stories in Dutch literary magazines including Passionate and KortVerhaal. Place Lamarine is his debut novel and was published in Dutch in September 2015.

Asja Novak was born in 1993 in Croatia. In 2008 she moved to London to study art and languages.  She now lives and works in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
