On a scorching summer day we launched a very hot new title: Michael Dean’s latest novel True Freedom. Set in Boston and London over sixteen years, True Freedom is a panoramic account of how America came to fight Britain for its independence in the eighteenth century.
We love to share a few photos from the launch party.

Waiting for people to arrive, Michael Dean stands proudly in front of one of the lovely displays of his book.
The first readers have arrived,
and Michael is taking a last look at his notes.
Michael is all set for the evening.
Michael Dean was interviewed by Arnold Jansen op de Haar from Holland Park Press. The interview was riveting and touched upon issues such as what fictionalising history adds to a crucial event such as the Boston Uprising.
Next to another lovely display of copies of True Freedom, there was lots of food for discussion.
Many thanks to Helen Wood and the Waterstones Colchester team for a well organised evening with delicious drinks and nibbles.
If you couldn’t make the launch, Waterstones Colchester has signed copies and, of course, you can also order True Freedom from this website, Amazon and bookshops, in the UK as well as in the USA.
