Marilyn Hacker & Arnold Jansen op de Haar at the Poetry Book Fair

August 11, 2014

You’re invited to a celebration of new poetry from Holland Park Press.

On Saturday 6 September at 3pm Marilyn Hacker & Arnold Jansen op de Haar will read from their new poetry collections.

Diaspo/Renga, a collaboration in alternating Renga by Marilyn Hacker and Deema K Shehabi, was inspired by a poem about a steadfast yet emotionally wounded child lamenting her fate during the invasion of Gaza in January 2009. The result is a fascinating poetic conversation between Jewish-American Marilyn Hacker and Palestinian-American Deema Shehabi.

Mercilessly Loving (Meedogenloos liefhebben) by Arnold Jansen op de Haar includes the long poem ‘London Calling’. Five poems to be published in this collection were included the autumn 2013 issue of leading Dutch poetry magazine Het Liegend Konijn.

The reading will take place at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square London WC1R 4RL.
