We’re delighted to announce that Laura Del-Rivo will read from Where is My Mask of an Honest Man? in speakers’ corner at the very first London Short Story Festival
The festival takes place at Waterstones Piccadilly and Laura will read at 2pm on Sunday 22 June.
Laura is very much looking forward to it. Don’t miss this chance to meet a London author who speaks her mind in original sentences, and who burst onto the literary scene in 1961 with her debut novel The Furnished Room, hailed by Colin Wilson as ‘one of the significant novels of the 1960s’. It was subsequently turned into a film, West 11, by the late Michael Winner in 1963.
If that’s not enough Laura has been running a stall on Portobello market since the 1960s as well as being an author. This all comes together is her latest short story collection, Where is My Mask of an Honest Man? which is set in Notting Hill featuring the market and its glorious characters.
Holland Park Press’s publisher comments: ‘When I first read this collection it blew me away, and the London Short Story Festival, a necessary initiative, gives you the opportunity to be transported to Laura’s world.’
You can, of course, buy Laura’s book at the festival, but you can also order it from this website and all good bookshops.
