We’re excited about our very first appearance at Deventer Boekenmarkt on Sunday 5 August in the Netherlands. It is the largest book market in Europe with nearly 900 stalls.
The market is open from 9.30 to 17.30 and there is no entry fee.
The publisher and Dutch author Arnold Jansen op de Haar will man the stall and of course you can browse and buy all our books.
On request Arnold will also recite poetry and of course sign his books. An excellent opportunity to find out more about Holland Park Press, a London based publishing house which promotes Dutch literature.
Deventer itself is well worth a visit. It was founded in 768 by an English saint, St LebuÌÄåønus (Liafwin) and during the 14th and 15th centuries it was one of the prominent cities in the Hanseatic League. A substantial part of the city centre dating back to this time has been preserved. Moreover the Jansen op de Haar family hails from near this town.
You can find us at stall 179 along the IJsselkade, this map gives you all the details about finding your way around the book market. This page from the tourist office tells you how to get Deventer and the market.
We’re looking forward to meet you all on the 5th of August. If you have any question or requests feel free to contact the publisher or leave a comment. We’ll answer all your queries.
