If he was still alive, on Saturday 12th November Arnhem’s famous poet Johnny van Doorn (aka Johnny the Self-kicker’, 1944–1991) would have celebrated his 65th birthday.
To mark this day a new biography about Johnny van Doorn is published and a special event is being held between 2 and 4 pm in bookshop Ongerijmd in Arnhem.
Rumour has it that in the presence of Johnny’s widow Yvonne, Johnny will be brought to live on the central city square named after him.
