First of all a heartfelt thank you to all the 226 people who sent in their poem! We are truly astonished by the extent on your response.
We received poems from over 29 countries including in no specific order: France, Singapore, UK, Indonesia, USA (including Hawaii), Israel, Ireland, India, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Switzerland, Japan, Zimbabwe, Greece, Iceland, Australia, Nigeria, Belize, Germany, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Macedonia, Namibia, Malta, Burma and Ghana.
It is great to see that so many people from diverse cultural backgrounds were inspired by the first few lines of Hedwig’s Journey by Frederik van Eeden.
We will now start the challenging judging process about which we will publish more details soon.
The winner of this competition will receive £100 and the winning poem will be published in our online magazine.
