‘I’m delighted to run the stall this year at the Poetry Book Fair. I couldn’t make it last year and I really missed this wonderful event. It’s such a joy to meet up with old friends and meet new people who love poetry.’ says publisher Bernadette Jansen op de Haar.
Our flagship title this year is The Refrain of Other People’s Lives, Arnold Jansen op de Haar’s new poetry collection, its English translation was published this year, and which deals with being an EU immigrant.
Rather a topical subject. Arnold Jansen op de Haar (1962) moved from Arnhem to London in 2014. His emigration brought everything into focus. The poems of this collection combine to form a story. What makes somebody the person he is?
You can check out our eclectic and growing poetry list from this page. We are especially proud of having a poetry bestseller in our midst. 100 Dutch-Language Poems – From the Medieval Period to the Present Day not only won the Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation prize but also sold an amazing number of copies. Make sure you have a copy on your shelves.
So, come along and quiz our publisher on Saturday 30 September from 11am until 6pm in Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square London WC1R 4RL.
